The RET (Renewable Energy Target) is currently under review with the report due out “mid this year”.

Along with general industry feeling we are expecting the review to recommend changes which if passed through parliament could reduce or eliminate the current rebates under the Small Technology Certificates (STC’s). Anyone thinking of solar should action their plans to take advantage of current opportunities.

Background

The Renewable Energy Target (RET) scheme, comprised of the large-scale and small-scale schemes, is aimed at increasing renewable energy generation and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the electricity sector. It is designed to deliver the equivalent of 20 per cent of Australia’s electricity from renewable sources by 2020.
