The Laurie Maher Coast Community Centre was officially opened at midday today (Friday 2nd November 2012) by the honorable Prime Minister Julia Gillard.
With a substantial turn out of press, dignitaries and the local community Ms Gillard arrived slightly early and completed a tour of the facility before commencing the official opening ceremony.
Ms Gillard delivered an eloquent and relevant speech praising the community for its collaboration to achieve such a purposeful facility for people in need on the Central Coast.
She then unveiled the commemorative plaque to much applause
A 20kW solar power system to produce renewable energy for our local community was generously supported and installed by Superior Solar on the Laurie Maher Coast Community Centre.
