What is the Rebate?

To celebrate installing its one millionth Powerwall globally, Tesla launched the “Next Million Powerwall Rebate.” Here’s what it means for you:

  • $750 per Powerwall 3 or Powerwall 3 Expansion installed at your home
  • Up to $1,500 total if you install two units
  • Paid as a Virtual Visa® Reward Card — sent by email after installation
  • Can be combined with government rebates and other incentives

The Stacked Savings Breakdown (Package Deal)

When you combine all available savings on a two-battery package, here’s what the numbers look like:

Saving Amount
Tesla Next Million Powerwall Rebate (2 batteries) $1,500
Superior Solar Package Rebate $750
Federal Government BSTC Rebate ~$5,330
Total Saving ~$7,580
Package price after all rebates From ~$18,890

Existing Powerwall 2 Owners — This is for You too

Powerwall 3 is now backward compatible with Powerwall 2. That means you can add a Powerwall 3 to your existing system — something that wasn’t possible before.

You’re still eligible for both the federal government rebate and the Tesla $750 Virtual Visa Card. If you’ve been thinking about expanding your battery capacity, now is the time.

Why This Matters If You Think The Rebate Is Gone

There’s been a lot of confusion about the government’s battery rebate. Here’s the reality: the federal rebate (BSTCs) has reduced. But Tesla’s $750 rebate was specifically designed to offset that reduction.

For most homeowners, the net effect is that the cost of going solar-and-battery is roughly the same as it was 12 months ago. You haven’t missed the window — you just need to act before June 30.
