The Federal rebate will save you $1000
RECs saving will be from $600 – $1000 depending on the efficiency of the system you choose. The higher the efficiency or the better for the environment means the greater the saving for you.
Superior Solar is offering an additional $300 discount on top of the rebates and RECs. This is only valid for system installed before the end of September 2011
Electric hot water systems will be “phased out in 2012“. The Federal rebate has reduced already and will reduce again sometime in the future, the NSW state rebate has finished so DONT WAIT TO PAY FULL PRICE.

The current Federal rebate on solar hot water systems is $1,000 and $600 for heat pump systems.
You will also be entitled to renewable energy credits (RECs) from The Office of Renewable Energy Regulator with the purchase of a solar water heater or heat pump water heaters. Depending on the REC price this will mean a saving of $600 to $1000.
All Superior Solar hot water products have the highest REC entitlement. This is applied at the point of sale and all paperwork is completed for you at the time of installation.
Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme – Solar Hot Water Rebate – Dept of Climate Change & Energy Efficiency
The Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme – Solar Hot Water Rebate (REBS) assists households to save money on power bills and reduce their carbon emissions.
Water heating is the largest single source of greenhouse gas emissions from the average Australian home, accounting for around 23 per cent of household emissions. Installing a climate friendly hot water system can save a family hundreds of dollars off their energy bills each year.
REBS is available to help eligible home-owners, landlords or tenants to replace their electric storage hot water systems with solar or heat pump hot water systems. Under REBS, eligible households can claim a rebate of $1,000 for a solar hot water system or $600 for a heat pump hot water system.
